Korean grocery stores in Klang Valley
It’s not difficult to find Korean goods at our local supermarkets now with the growing interest in Korean food culture. With popular convenience stores from South Korea also popping up on our shores, we’re pretty much spoilt for choice.

1. Korean Grocer – new grocery store with one-for-one deals

Korean Grocer by Jaya Grocer opened in March 2021 at 1 Utama Shopping Mall. They’ve quickly become popular among patrons due to their wide range of Korean-made products, including everything from chips and ramen, to face masks and shampoos.

There are also selected fresh produce, frozen foods, and housewares common in Korean households to browse through. The grocer also offers regular discounts and buy-1-free-1 deals. Just keep an eye out for orange tags on the shelf that reflect these bargains.

Getting to Korean Grocer is convenient for those swinging by on the MRT. Simply alight at Bandar Utama MRT Station, and it’ll be a less-than-five minute walk here. If you’re coming by vehicle, consider parking at 1 Utama E to save you on walking time from other zones in the mall.

2. Shin Sun Mi Korean Market – grocery store and eatery
Before Korean convenience stores first popped up in Malaysia, Shin Sun Mi Korean Market was well-known among shoppers and foodies alike as a grocery store with a hot food section serving tteokbokki and odeng.

Find this grocery store in Sunway Geo Avenue in Subang Jaya with a recently expanded space carrying a wide variety of imported products, including meal kits that require little cooking time or kitchen know-hows.
This includes their line of Ottogi easy-cook kits that lets you whip up dishes such as jjajang beef, hamburg steak, and curry that requires three minutes in the microwave or boiling to heat up and pair with rice.

A variety of banchans, or Korean side dishes, sold here will help complete your Korean feast at home. Explore authentic options such as seasoned perilla leaves, pickled garlic and cucumber, fried anchovies, and seasoned vegetables.

If you’re not up for cooking, Shin Sun Mi Korean Market has a food stall that serves hot food. Have your pick of odeng, tteokbokki, gimbaps and corn dogs to home with you, or feast on your newly-purchased snacks at tables set out outside their mart.

3. KO Mart – in-store meat shop for special meat cuts

KO Mart is another new Korean grocery store in Klang Valley that began serving customers in January 2021 at 1 Mont Kiara shopping centre.

They’re well-stocked with staples to cook up an authentic Korean spread, including fresh produce, frozen food, and housewares such as pots and barbecue grills.

One of the highlights of this new Korean grocery store is Daebak Meat. They’re a meat shop within KO Mart that sells a variety of meat cuts to suit all your barbecue and stew needs.
Find pork back rib, back bone, tenderloin, and more for various cooking styles and dishes. Or go for beef striploin, rib eye, brisket, chuck, or LA short rib, all imported from the US, Australia, Brazil and New Zealand.

For first timers to the meat shop, there are helpful charts placed at the counter that has recommended meat cuts for various dishes to help guide shoppers.
Or reach out to the friendly butcher behind the counter for recommendations. You can also have your meats sliced to order for specific dishes you have in mind.

4. K Market – four branches nationwide

Mention Korean grocery stores and K Market will most likely come to mind. This established grocery store has two locations in Klang Valley – Mont Kiara and Puchong – and two more branches in Penang and Johor.

All their stores carry similar ranges of food items from popular Korean brands such as Jongga, Nongshim, and Ottogi. Look for your favourite K-beauty products, household items, and kitchenware here too.

Once you’re done shopping for groceries, you can fuel up with bibimbaps or gimbaps at the food stall inside their Klang Valley outlets. These outlets also have free designated parking spots for customers for extra convenience.

K Market recently opened a convenience store called KShop, located at Cheras Leisure Mall. KShop carries selected Korean-imported beverages and snacks that you can pick up and have to-go while shopping at the mall.

5. Kim’s Mart – Korean food items by the bulk

Kim’s Mart is a Korean grocery store in Mont Kiara frequented by locals and Koreans alike in the Klang Valley. It’s located at Jalan Solaris – considered the “Korea town” of KL due to the presence of Korean hair salons, restaurants and grocery stores here.

Those looking to stock up on groceries and save an extra trip to the grocery store can consider dropping by here for staple Korean cooking ingredients sold by the bulk.
These include kimchi, gochujang, instant rice, tuna, and spam, and can be found among their aisles stocked with snacks, ramen, condiments, and more.

6. Seoul Mart 서울마트 – over 10-year-old Korean grocery store in KL

Seoul Mart has been around for over a decade, and is popularly known as a cosy mom-and-pop grocery store where you can pick up Korean food items and more.
Located just below a Korean barbecue, this grocery store is well-stocked with imported items such as ramen, meat, fresh produce, household goods, banchan, and alcoholic beverages.

One of the charms of this Korean grocery store is their diverse stash of instant noodles. They sell over 15 varieties in loose single packs as they usually do at Korean convenience stores. This way, you’ll get to pick out several flavours to try and find out a new favourite instant noodle flavour.
Find everything from classic instant noodles of Samyang and Shin ramen, to Jin, Neoguri and Jjapaghetti ramen.

7. NH Pasarnita Mart – variety of Korean household products

Not far from K Market and Kim’s Mart is NH Pasarnita Mart, also located in Mont Kiara. They carry packs of imported rice from Nonghyup, a Korean manufacturer, as the grocery store happens to be a joint venture between Nonghyup and Pasarnita.

This includes varieties of short-grain rice from the Seocheon area in South Korea, which pairs well with Korean stews and barbecued meats due to its sticky texture when cooked. The rice is also Jakim halal-certified, and sold in 2kg, 4kg and 10kg packs from RM24.50.

Aside from their extensive range of rice and imported products – spanning everything fresh produce to dry condiments – they have variety of household products and toiletries from Korea.
Here you can find detergents, shampoos, household gloves, cooking pans, bowls, plates and face masks – just to name a few.

8. Freshan Grocer – two locations in Klang Valley

Freshan Grocer is a speciality Korean grocery store focusing on “fresh and premium” imported Korean products. They opened their doors in Sri Hartamas in 2019, and have since expanded to a new location in Desa Park City at The Waterfront.

There are different sections for fresh produce, meat, frozen foods, snacks, ramen, beverages, ice cream, dry condiments, and staples such as kimchi, banchan, and laver, at both locations.
Among their frozen foods are premium seafoods including crab and lobster. household and personal care products too. Keep an eye out for their seasonal fresh fruits, such as strawberries, pears, muscats and oranges imported from Korea.
