A lot more eateries in Malaysia are adding meat-free items to their menus that rival the usual proteins we’re used to. Another spot that’s proving plant-based meals can be healthy and just as scrumptious is Amazon Vegan.
This homegrown diner-style restaurant in Mont Kiara serves all-American fare – but with a twist. Their menu comprises only plant-based items, including burgers, tacos, milkshakes, and even dairy-free soft serve, that’re perfect for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone just looking for good grub.

Amazon Vegan is located at 163 Retail Park in Mont Kiara, and is the first fast-food spot with an entirely vegan-friendly, plant-based menu in Malaysia.
As you enter this joint, you’ll be greeted by red-and-white chequered walls and neon lights that’ll make you feel as if you stepped into a diner in the US – think Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe in Riverdale.

As American grub brings to mind hearty burgers made hefty with ingredients and served with fries, Amazon Vegan has a selection of plant-based burgers that vegans, vegetarians, and meat lovers will enjoy.
Their burgers consist of meatless patties made from pea protein, which have a nice non-crumbly texture that resemble typical meat patties. You can choose from three “protein” options – ZeroChicken, ZeroBeef, or ZeroLamb – depending on how strong in flavour you would like your patties to be, with ZeroChicken being the mildest.

If you’re swinging by for burgers, a must-try here is Amazon Vegan’s take on an American classic, the Philly Cheesesteak (RM28.90). It comprises a zero-meat option of your choice, gooey plant-based cheese, and sweet caramelised onions, all tucked between toasted vegan butter-slathered hoagie roll.
To try all their meatless options in one go, opt for the Little Vegans Series Set (RM39.90) – it comes with three sliders, skin-on fries, and a large zero-calorie soda.

If burgers aren’t your thing, go for their Tacos Double Set or Burrito Set, priced RM31.40 each and comprising the same fillings of creamy guacamole, melted “cheese”, and vegan mayo – but with hard-shell tacos or organic tortilla wrap respectively.

Pair your meal with a refreshing Strawberry Cream Milkshake (RM18.90), which is entirely plant-based too with pea milk and fresh strawberries. Other milkshake flavours to order include Chocolate Lover (RM18.90), made with rich Belgian chocolate.

Don’t forget to try the dairy-free and sugar-free ice cream (RM2.99). You can choose from flavours such as vanilla and coconut, both of which taste mildly sweet.
