First Bacha Coffee in Malaysia

Sipping on robust coffee in an opulent palace in Morroco feels like a far-fetched dream for most of us. But multiple outlets of one of Marrakech’s biggest coffee brands, Bacha Coffee, in neighbouring Singapore makes the dream feel a little more obtainable for us Malaysians.

Now, we won’t have to make stops at Changi Airport or Marina Bay Sands to visit an outlet. There’s a Bacha Coffee now open at Suria KLCC in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and it’s the boutique coffee shop’s first Malaysia outlet.

Here’s what you can expect on a visit there:

BACHA COFFEE KL - retail store

The scores of Bacha Coffee outlets and flagship stores in Singapore has us Malaysians wishing that the luxury coffee brand from Marrakech would open an equally glamorous outlet in the country as well.

And at long last, it is happening.

The store boasts a boutique retail space, where you can browse for their popular coffee blends, brewing accessories, and gift boxes; a takeaway counter for to-go coffee and pastries; and a dine-in area to savour their food offerings in a luxurious area reminiscent of a bygone era.

There are also private dining rooms, and an outdoor terrace for patrons to enjoy their signature cuppa with sugar sticks and pastries at.

Their dine-in menu comprises specially crafted brunch mains, desserts, housemade pastries, and speciality drinks. Meanwhile, their takeaway menu features their signature takeaway coffee (RM25), with a variety of coffee blends to pick from that gets served with chantilly cream and a sugar stick, and a selection of housemade pastries.

Despite being one of the most distinguished coffee brands in the world, Bacha Coffee only has physical stores in four cities at present – Marrakech, Paris, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The new branch in Kuala Lumpur will be its fifth city.

The largest Bacha Coffee store is located in Terminal 3 of Changi Airport Singapore. The Arch, as it is dubbed, is adorned with gold embellishments and scores of tall coffee canisters, making it a popular landmark to get souvenirs in the airport.

According to an article by The Edge Markets published in March 2023, there will possibly be another Bacha Coffee outlet set to open at The Exchange TRX in KL – a bustling hub with retail shops that is set to open in the fourth quarter of this year.
