Coldplay world tour in Malaysia


For days, there has been buzz surrounding the news of British rock band Coldplay possibly having a concert in Malaysia for their ongoing world tour. Now, Malaysians can all cheer aloud, as the band themselves confirmed that they’ll be gracing our country for the first time ever on 22nd November 2023.  

Here’s what we know about their upcoming concert in Malaysia:

Coldplay’s rumoured concert in Malaysia was the talk of the town all week. Much to fans’ glee, the rumour isn’t a rumour anymore – the British band confirmed on their social media platforms and website that they’ll be having a concert in Malaysia for the very first time.

They are set to blaze the stage of Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on 22nd November.

The concert will be part of their tour titled Music of the Spheres, and Kuala Lumpur was announced as a stop along with several other cities including Tokyo, Kaohsiung, Jakarta, and Perth.

CIMB cardholders can access an exclusive ticket presale on 16th May from 10am until 11:59pm online at Live Nation Malaysia and on the GoLive Ticketing app. General sale tickets will be available on the same platforms on 17th May, from 10am with pre-queue starting at 9am.

Live Nation Malaysia has since released prices for tickets on their social media platforms, including Twitter.

The different pricing tiers, excluding ticket fees and booking charges, are:

  • CAT 1: RM1,288
  • CAT 2: RM758
  • CAT 3: RM658
  • CAT 4: RM598
  • CAT 5: RM498
  • CAT 6: RM398
  • CAT 7: RM228

There are also special packages with additional inclusions, including:

  • Ultimate Experience (RM3,088) – CAT 1 seated ticket, backstage tour, photo opportunity, dedicated venue entrance and merch counters, custom merch, and sustainable Coldplay gift item
  • My Universe (RM2,108) – CAT 1 seated ticket, dedicated venue entrance and merch counters, and sustainable Coldplay gift item
  • Higher Power (RM1,258) – CAT 3 GA ticket, early entry, dedicated venue entrance and merch counters, and sustainable Coldplay gift item

Each transaction is also limited to four tickets only.

Undeniably one of the most esteemed musicians and bands in this millennium, Coldplay went from passionate college bandmates to world-famous hitmakers.

They came together as a band in 1997 in the United Kingdom, with the quartet comprising vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion, as well as a fifth member Phil Harvey who is the creative director of the band.

The band has been an unstoppable force in the music industry. With a plethora of breakthrough hits and awards under their belts, Coldplay is also one of the best-selling music acts of all time, boasting 100 million albums sold worldwide.

As it’s the band’s first time in Malaysia, there’s no doubt that fans will be extremely excited to watch them perform their hit singles that you need not be a fan to be familiar with such as Yellow, A Sky Full Of Stars, The Scientist, Viva La Vida and Something Just Like This.

It’ll be a night with a sky full of stars for sure, as Coldplay is set to hold their very first live concert on local shores. Tickets are expected to sell out fast, so stay on your toes with your wallets ready once ticket sale goes live on 17th May.
