Humble Hobbit Home has a mini pantry and bonfire pit

Driving in Kundasang can be a little nerve-wrecking as the roads are narrow, steep, and winding, so it’s highly recommended that you bring your own groceries to prepare simple meals using their mini pantry to avoid having to drive out for food regularly.

Come night-time, you can head out to the rock garden and whip up a barbecue feast as they have a bonfire pit there that’s perfect for the weather. It can get cold in Kundasang at night, with temperatures dropping to 12°C sometimes, so you can imagine how blissful it’ll be to bundle up by the fire, roast some marshmallows, and keep warm with a hot drink in hand.

How to get there

Kundasang is a 2-hour drive from Kota Kinabalu. Do remember that the roads are curvy with lots of sharp corners, so practice extreme caution when navigating and those who get car sick easily should definitely load up on plastic bags for the car ride!

Car rental shops are easily found in Kota Kinabalu Airport and around KK city centre. A few popular ones include KK Rent A Car in Cyber City Apartment, KK Leisure at Jalan Asia City Lot 7, Journey Kinabalu in Plaza Tanjung Aru, and Big Momma Car Rental at Jalan Tuaran.
