First M’sian crowned as Mrs Tourism Queen International

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. While many may shy away from the spotlight as they grow older, a 41-year-old mum from Ipoh embodied ageless beauty in the recently held Mrs Tourism Queen International in Thailand – where she was crowned champion and triumphed over 18 other contestants.

The mum of two sons aged 11 and 14, Sangeet Kaur Manjit Singh, represented Malaysia in the Mrs Tourism Queen International pageant that was held in Nong Khai, Thailand, on 15th April 2023.

Alongside her were 18 other contestants from various countries, such as Liao Jing Jing from China, Linah Ramalepe from South Africa, and Nancy Nan who represented Taiwan.

Her story was first reported by The Star on 25th April. In an interview with the news portal, she was quoted saying that she was proud to represent the country, as she was the first Malaysian to bag the title.

When she was young, Sangeet enjoyed watching her mother apply makeup as a child, which spurred her fascination in the beauty and fashion industry. Her passion then developed into joining the pageant, which eventually paid off in her winning the title as a first-timer joining the Mrs Tourism Queen International pageant.

Today, she is an education consultant who hopes to continue her passion for both beauty and education, by being part of ecotourism and sustainability projects initiated by the pageant organisation. She also hopes to inspire women to keep believing in their dreams and celebrate beauty in all its forms – particularly in fellow women who may be bound by their age.
