An official launch ceremony was held the day before at Johan Setia Depot, on Sunday, which was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. In a speech during the event, he announced that commuters can hop on the new rail line without the usual train fares for a month.

The month-long perk is to encourage the overall use of public transportation and to allow commuters to make the most of the newly launched Shah Alam LRT line.
