Experience Dungeons & Dragons IRL at Sunway Pyramid

Many of us rediscovered our love for tabletop games during the pandemic. But games such as Dungeons & Dragons had been a hit in the years before – think the kids of Hawkins in the ’80s-set Netflix hit, Stranger Things, who reference the game throughout the series.

Now, you can jump into that same fantastical world of monsters and IRL quests with the whole fam at the Dungeons & Dragons The Tavern Experience at Sunway Pyramid. The event takes place from now till 2nd April 2023, and the best part – admission is 100% free.

Here’s what you can expect:

Go on quests & enter a Monster Exhibit at the event

Sunway Pyramid Dungeons & Dragons - photo zone
There are plenty of photo ops with the characters of D&D at the pop-up.

Whether you’re a fan of the tabletop game – or just looking forward to the upcoming movie it’s based on that’s set to release in cinemas on 30th March – you’ll want to pop in the Dungeons & Dragons The Tavern Experience at Sunway Pyramid’s LG2 Blue Concourse.

If you’ve ever played D&D, you’d know that most of the game takes place through shared storytelling that transports you to a whole new imagined dimension. But this pop-up takes the game a step further with immersive experiences and activities that are fun for kids and adults alike.

Sunway Pyramid Dungeons & Dragons - Show Your Might

Among the diverse family-friendly activities to sweep you into the fantastical world of D&D is the Show Your Might quest, which lets you throw a rubber hammer to measure your strength as a warrior. Swing by on the weekends for this particular activity, as it only takes place on Saturdays and Sundays.

Or check out the Rogue Reflex Trainer, which gauges your capabilities as a Rogue – a trickster with sneaky combat skills in the game world – by making you catch falling sticks.

Sunway Pyramid Dungeons & Dragons - monsters

Of course, it’s hardly a fantasy adventure without having to face off with a monster. At the Monster Exhibit, you can see the franchise’s monsters up-close – Mimic the shapeshifting creature and dragons included – in a thrilling showcase.

Get your hands on a character poster & Dragon Brew

Sunway Pyramid Dungeons & Dragons - colouring

For a more laidback activity, head over to the Medieval Arts colouring zone and unleash your inner artist as you colour character posters. You can even bring your masterpieces home as keepsakes.

Sunway Pyramid Dungeons & Dragons - drink
The LED cubes are reminiscent of D&D’s very own gelatinous cube monster.

To finish off your exploration of the pop-up, claim a refreshing Dragon Brew after you’ve tried out at least two activities. Inspired by the world of D&D, this specially made drink has LED cubes that’ll light up with motion and make you feel as if you’re downing a magical potion.

Just head here as early as you can, because the drinks are only available on a first-come-first-served basis.
